The Department of Bengali
Onda, an ancient village in Bankura District, is famous for its old culture and education. The holy dream of higher education for local people was materialised when the college came to an existence-Onda Thana Mahavidyalaya began its educational journey in 2007. The next year, in 2008, the college gained permission to run an honours course in Bengali literature. From that point of commencing, the department had “No Look Behind”. It is running with the entire satisfaction of all concerns. The result as well as the performance of the department are gratifying on average and also in total.
There are six faculty members who are active, careful and diligent. Apart from the academic side, other activities run parallel with all success. Students go to study for master-course in Bengali at renowned Universities by getting good marks in degree from this college, they establish themselves in several professions.
Faculty members are cooperative, energetic and also hard working. Besides their daily class routine, they indulge themselves in remedial classes, class tests, and supplying extra study materials. The outstanding teacher-student relationship is an eminent component of the faculty of Bengali. The Bengali Department of the Institution takes care to solve the problems of the students and provides proper guidance and counselling. To develop creative aptitude, the department has arranged to publish a wall magazine namely “ICHHE” where the students get the opportunity to ventilate their originalities.
Throughout the year, the Bengali Department remains engaged in rendering ভাষা দিবস, Class Seminar, National and International webinars, and Educational Excursion. The Bengali Department of the college looks forward to further development and is eager for a brighter future for the learners of Bengali.
